Ahhhh, it is the little things...

The Brembo reservoir kit for the RCS 19 master showed up today so we got it installed, filled, and bled out tonight. Loving the adjustments on this master and the HEL Performance brake lines will make this one hell of a braking system, can't wait to ride it and really see how it works! Debating getting the remote adjuster for it... Plenty of time for that though!

We really don't know why Adam is smiling...
Now there is an upgrade if I have ever seen one!
After some issues with an order a few weeks later we have a complete set of tapered steering head bearings! Long story short we got the wrong kit in the correct package and then got the correct ones finally this week and got them installed. So the front end of Project Supertwin is almost complete... Brembo is sending a reservoir for the RCS 19 master cylinder and we can button the front end up hopefully this week!

Now it is time for a beer!
Cheers!

Well, after a ton of legwork by my buddy James Boudreau this is what we have come up with for Project Supertwin to the Manx!!!

There are many things that will and have made the things happen to get me to the Isle of Man... My parents, my friends, and lots of dreams! So looking forward to this!

Tasty Carbon and Custom Blood Nickel Leathers...

Tasty Carbon Fender

Well, the front end is pretty much complete now with this nice little piece of art.

Blood Nickel is my buddy Nate's company and he makes some kick ass leather race suits, he is also one of the first people to lend a hand with Project Supertwin and a stand up guy! So the Blood Nickel decal is the first decal applied to Project Supertwin! You need a set of custom leathers? Blood Nickel is your brand!!!

Here is a couple of pics of Adam's leathers:

Rearsets and things to slow me down are cool

Sato Racing Rearsets, SEXY!

Brembo RCS 19 Master

Brembo Mechanical Clutch Lever
Adam says he is ready... The bike... Maybe not... ;)

Wow, lots of stuff arrived today! Got a bunch of factory bits and pieces in to get the front end solid and get the swingarm finally torqued in as well! Brembo is just simply amazing, the clutch lever arrived today and all I can say is WOW... Amazing quality stuff! Got the HEL front lines on thanks to Phil @ Moto-Heaven and once we get the rear end kind of figured out the HEL rear line will get put on as well! The big part of the day is the Sato Rearsets... These things are amazing, the quality is top notch and they come with ALL the pieces to get them installed! Yes, they are expensive, but the quality is there for sure! Now if they would get things setup for GP shifting I would be happy... I will be modifying them as I will not race a bike without GP shifting. Yes, I am picky! Well, that is all for now! More parts arriving next week hopefully!

Cheers!

HEL Lines and a Brembo RCS 19 Master Cylinder
Some goodies arrived this afternoon for Project Supertwin! I think these will help with the stopping of said motorcycle! ;)

Adam got a little anxious and slid some parts together...

Starting to look like something!

Yeah, I slid some pieces together the other night to see how things were gonna look and fit. Waiting on a set of tapered steering head bearings and some misc hardware to get the front end bolted up and the swingarm mounts should be here next week... Guess I need to contact Ed over at Lindemann Engineering and get the Penske 8987 rear shock ordered up so I don't have to use a 4x4!

If you need any suspension work done, Ed is THE MAN and you should use him!

Project Supertwin Scores Some Bits!

2010 ZX6R Front End

2012 Ninja 650 Swingarm

2009 ZX6R Wheelset w/Rotors

Well, we have a few bits and pieces here and I think we need to put some stuff together! As you will notice we are not using the stock front end from the Ninja 650, instead we will be using these Showas off of a 2010 ZX6R, the nice thing is that it is a direct bolt in replacement! The rear wheel from the ZX6R is a 5.5" and is going to be a bit of a challenge to get it fitted but will cover that when we get there later on.

I also follow a blog called "Project Pizza Race Bike" that Maria Costello MBE has put up on building a Supertwin. Tons of good info over there! Big difference is her bike is an older version with a different frame and swingarm among some other differences.

Give her page a follow and check it out here:

Project Supertwin Begins

2012 Ninja 650 Frame

With this frame an adventure begins for me, my friends, and family!

I will be aquiring bits and pieces to create my perfect Supertwin racebike to race stateside with the MRA and CRA in 2014 and she will be getting shipped over to the Isle of Man in 2015 for the Manx GP in August/September.

The bike we are starting with is a 2012 Kawasaki Ninja 650, in other parts of the world it is an ER-6f, we have done a lot of research and have chosen this bike because of the success it has had over in Ireland and the Isle of Man racing on the roads.

Stay tuned as I get pieces and parts I will post up what we at Just-Us Racing are up to and where the project is at during this whole build!
